Chris Guzniczak, MA, LPC

Chris helps young (and not so young) adults, couples, and teenagers effectively manage depression, anger, unhealthy addictions, and the anxiety & stress that come along with our complex lives. He believes that we have the inherent ability to change the way we feel because our environment doesn’t directly cause our emotions. Chris followed his passion to help people as a therapist after 20 years of successful technology sales and management.

Chris is a Level 3 certified TEAM CBT therapist and Level 1 certified Gottman Institute therapist. He begins with developing a deep understanding of the change a client wants to have. He then works to address resistance and change. Chris takes a whole person philosophy, considering mental, emotional, social, spiritual, and physical health. He recognizes that helping clients find self-acceptance is critical to healing. With couples, he often focuses on developing connection and emotional safety.

Originally from Chicago, Chris now lives with his beautiful wife and two children in north Texas. His personal interests include running, reading, and experiencing new cultures. Throughout his career, Chris has found ways to help people with professional, career, and spiritual guidance as a sales manager, a professional coach, and as a Stephen Minister. After achieving his master’s in counseling at Amberton University, Chris started his practice while working as an outpatient therapist at Carrollton Springs where he ran small groups and provided education. He enjoys educating the public on mental health any chance he gets.
