Shae Reid is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC-Intern). She earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Texas Tech University, and a Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling from Amberton University. Shae’s previous counseling work includes inpatient work at Denton County MHMR, substance abuse counseling, couples counseling, and sex addiction counseling with addicts and partners of sex addicts. She has extensive experience working as a program coordinator for a non-profit organization that supports adults who have mental and physical disabilities. Shae is continuing her education in sex therapy, where her goal is to become a Certified Sex Therapist (CST).
Shae’s objective is to help individuals to better all of their relationships, but she believes in order to have a healthy relationship with others, the individual must first have a healthy relationship with their own self; mentally, physically, and spiritually. She also believes that if one is able to change their thoughts on a subject, then they will be more likely to be able to alter the actions as well. Shae is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for individuals to come and share their experiences and receive helpful guidance.
Shae enjoys spending time with her family in West Texas, where she was raised. She also enjoys experiencing all of the fun and exciting activities that North Texas has to offer. She is looking forward to being an aunt for the first time to her new nephew. She adopted a dog named Hercules when he was four weeks old. He has been her furry companion now for over one year. They enjoy going on walks at the park, playing fetch in the back yard, and going to the pet store for new toys and treats.
